Request for Proposals (RFPs) are public invitations for proposals that are announced by funders, usually for specific grant programs. We will do our best to forward RFPs to the appropriate units and programs as they are announced, but please feel free to review our ongoing list of current opportunities here, and contact the FRCP team member listed if you would like to submit a proposal or have any questions.
Limited Submission funding opportunities are managed by the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research. Please contact the FRCP team with inquiries regarding RFPs with a limited submission designation.
Pivot is a funding opportunity and expertise database system that combines a funding database of over 25,000 opportunities with a database of over 3 million researcher expertise profiles. Along with powerful search features, the system provides tools for individuals to save searches and opportunities, explore possibilities for collaboration, share opportunities with colleagues, and choose to receive email alerts when records are added or changed. Pivot replaced the COS Funding Opportunities database. Pivot is available at UC Berkeley, based on the campus subscription provided by the Sponsored Projects Office.
Foundation Directory Online (FDO) is a research tool and service of the Foundation Center, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering and increasing knowledge about philanthropy. This tool includes grantmaker profiles, grant information, maps and charts, 990 forms and much more. Full FDO access is available here for UC Berkeley users, based on the campus subscription provided through the library. (Access through VPN required.)
Philanthropy News Digest (PND) a daily news service of the Foundation Center, is a compendium, in digest form, of philanthropy-related articles and features culled from print and electronic media outlets nationwide. They publish RFP (Request for Proposals) listings daily, and the RFP Bulletin summarizes the week's listings every Friday afternoon. Each RFP listing provides a brief overview of a current funding opportunity offered by a foundation or other grantmaking organization. Interested applicants should read the full RFP at the grantmaker's Web site or contact the grantmaker directly for complete program guidelines and eligibility requirements before submitting a proposal to that grantmaker.
